Cindy articled at a large firm in London, Ontario and then spent her first eight years of practice in family law at a medium-sized firm in London, mentored by a lawyer who is now a judge. For the past eight plus years, Cindy has made Barrie, Ontario her home, practicing family law at the Barrie division of Gelman & Associates.
Cindy has taught in the business law, law clerks and paralegal programs at both Fanshawe College and Georgian College. She has served on the board of directors for the Women’s Community House in London for several years, the board of directors for York Region Victim Services and most recently, the board of directors for Collaborative Practice Simcoe County.
After practicing family law for over sixteen years, Cindy has just about seen it all, handling the gamut of cases from negotiation to litigation to collaborative divorce. She not only has a wealth of experience, but her clients say she has an exceptional ability to listen and become a calming and reassuring presence for them during a difficult time.
As a resident and active member of the community herself, she is pleased to be able to provide legal services to the people of Barrie.
